Random thoughts – Don’t Read This…πŸ˜‰

Current culture has many unspoken laws, one being, “Don’t tell me I’m wrong.” Another, “Don’t say anything that will make me feel bad about myself.”

With modern transportation and now the internet, hundreds of thousands of world views have, for the first time in human history, collided. Some very beautiful pieces of that collision is getting to view the pure beauty of God’s most precious creation, human kind, in all its different threads and shimmers of color. A childhood joy (before 9/11) was getting to sit at JFK airport in NYC and watch multitudes of God’s creation walk by in various ethnic garbs, colors and styles.

No matter where you reside, even in the concrete jungle, we can see God’s love and glory.

But at the fall, the connection broken, we forgot that we were created in love for God, not God for us. And much pain and suffering has come through that broken relationship. And in varying idolatries to self and other idols, we have lost the knowledge that the most important thing is relationship first – the being, not the doing must be first. Relationship first with the One who through every sunrise and rainbow and blade of grass cries, I love you. Then with those made in his image, mothers, fathers, artists, artisans, skilled workers, doctors, lawyers, teachers, infants, children, Down Syndrome, all are created to be in connection with His Truth and Love, but where we have not listened and obeyed, suffering, pain and dis harmony remains.

More than a century ago tools were given to mankind in the realm of manufacturing that could have been a great blessing. Some things are, but all too often meaningful work was replaced by greedy endeavors to mass produce as much as we could as quickly as we could with no thought – to this day – of the destruction we have caused and are causing.

We have removed work from the artists and artisans, providing income to a select few. To suggest we stop mass producing music and regain the skills with instruments to create it is heresy, for we are far to smart and intelligent to give up Spotify for local artists or to go back to harder methods of instrument playing and song creation when πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„ we now have A.I. and to suggest killing the golden calf or at least putting serious restrictions on it is modern blasphemy….

You are a teacher.😊 (My mom was too, in Brooklyn and Queens.)

You understand how difficult it is to train brain patterns or retrain them once habits have been created. (Everybody wanting to end world poverty, we just need to give up our greed…I’m STILL losing the battle over Starbucks and ice cream, but nothing is impossible with God!)

I ramble, I dont really write (sorry…)

But this has been on my heart for a while and so I’m throwing you the ball and hope perhaps you can catch it.

How can we instill in this generation a desire and knowledge and purpose to create once again meaningful work that benefits ALL in society, not just a few that can do computers and the remaining trades?

How can we teach this generation that it’s ok, we can stop now? Stop being the most wasteful generations probably in history (what actually happens to all the stuff in the malls and stores we Don’t buy?? Some goes to charity, but serious, how many made in China knick knacks do we need?)

If we are honest, and yes, this is harsh, and few will hear this, WE are the slave traders of this time, rightfully condemning the slave trade of the past, while supporting or turning a blind eye to the sex slave industry fueled by porn, ignoring the conditions of our servants all over the world that make beautiful things for us to wear or decorate our homes, and we are so thrilled at how cheap those items are – some are literal slaves – and no one thinks that maybe we could use our freedom a wee bit more rationally and with a bit more regard for the things of the kingdom of heaven, that cares for the birds of the air and the beautiful lilies of the field, wherever they are.

So many inner city people and the people of America are dying for need of meaningful work. How do we bring this back into culture? Like an alcoholic who says, “I have no problem.” there must first be admission of the issue before there can begin to be the cure.

But the Source of the problem is and always will be a lack of love for God and for the amazing people He has created.

The world teaches us we must provide for ourselves, God will not do it (but it God who provides both meaningful work and food for the birds who do not work.)

The world teaches us to hoard, that if we work then the money is “mine” and must be used for “me” and “my family” but the Kingdom of heaven is not so enslaved to this world and reaches outward to feed more and more with the few loaves and fish that was “my” lunch, freely given by the boy to the One who could use such little gifts to feed 5000.

The kingdom of heaven grows outward, using time, money and energy to reach as many as possible, not inward, self destructing for no human was meant to live alone, nor upward like the Tower of Babel, filling ourselves with more and more tinsel treasures not needed for life.

Perhaps we can arrest the electronics and put them in jail… 😜or ban them to libraries until we learn once again how to interact with other humans and create grass roots organizations to teach people how to sew and create tables and chairs and agree that once again we will spend $300 or more on one handcrafted item that will last 40 years or $150 on clothes that will last 20, instead $30 every six months on things that fade.

When we are bored and need shopping therapy, we can find a homeless person (a network could be started to help those in need for those that do not do drugs and are not dangerous) and take them shopping – but seriously we have enough stuff in thrift stores to last the next three generations, why do we keep manufacturing more?

What if we learned to take simply what we need for life and connected with the Creator of all things who finds joy visiting those in prisons and caring for the least of these?

What if we found more joy reaching out to the needs of others than we do in entertainment and so many other things?

Or if our brain and body yells, this is boring, this is not fun, this is uncomfortable and a bit painful! — what if we loved anyway because…that is how He loves us. But to do that, we’d have to be connected with the Source.

All good things come from God. The more we surrender to him the more that goodness will flow through us to the world around us but we must always give him the glory or we become our own Idol. One of the biggest evils in the modern Generations is that people knew and had the knowledge of God and God bless them considerably but instead of constantly praising him and giving the glory to him in front of the Nations we chose to take the glory for ourselves. We became greedy and prideful and the good land in the spirit realm withered and we’re the good fruit and good plans were not thriving weeds took over. Where there is a dead body that the vultures will gather. So we pray God wake us up and all Gods will be done.
